Wallpaper Wednesday – Cars, Cars, and more Cars

Wallpaper Wednesday – Cars, Cars, and more Cars

Apr 6, 2011

Who doesn’t love a good wallpaper? They’re one of the first things we customize on our mobile devices. Some people pick one and stick with it, others change them like they’re TV channels. Wallpapers are as unique as the individuals who use them. They represent our moods, thoughts, ideals, and just plain insanity. I mean if it weren’t for wallpapers, app markets wouldn’t have the ludicrous numbers they so proudly boast.

Did you miss me? Probably not, huh? Well last week’s Wallpaper Wednesday was scratched due to my relentless search for a new vehicle. Long story short, I now have a new vehicle, and to celebrate the occasion I’ve decided to dedicate this week’s Wallpaper Wednesday to the automobile. Those vehicles we love to hate and hate to love. They get us where we need to go (sometimes) and empty our wallets faster than our wives/girlfriends (love you hun!). If you’re a car lover then you’ll want to check out some of these sweet automobile wallpapers that are sure to add a few extra horsepower to your device’s look.

Google Maps for Android Updated – Location History and more…

Apr 5, 2011

Google Maps for Android received another “Latitude” update bringing it to version 5.3. This updated version brings users a “Location History Dashboard,” “Home Check-In,” and personalized aspects to the places rating system. These social centric features seem to be dominating the Google Maps updates as of late, which I find a tad disappointing. Especially when I’m waiting on features such as multiple destination routing, speed limits, and other “travel” related items. Am I asking too much? Probably.

American Airlines’ “One Million” AAdvantage Mile Giveaway

A quick name and email address is all it takes to be entered to win one million American Airlines AAdvantage miles. But wait — that’s not all! To add to the pure insanity, American Airlines will be giving away a Barnes & Noble NOOK color every day for 30 days, and who wouldn’t want to get their hands on one of those cute rootable incognito tablets!

Is it Wednesday already? So — I was told the other day that spring was officially here, then I woke up and it was snowing out!? This week on Wallpaper Wednesday we celebrate springs arrival (or non-arrival) with a few “springy” wallpapers along with the usual catalog of static randomness. Be sure to read our wallpaper fine print before planting a new one on your device and as always, if you have any suggestions, send them our way.

“Honey, Do I Look Fat?” – FatBooth For Android Says “Yes!”

“Honey, Do I Look Fat?” – FatBooth For Android Says “Yes!”

Mar 18, 2011

Ever wonder what you would look like if you ate one-too-many cheesburgers? No? Me neither. Or maybe you already know the answer to that question and feel like punching the developers of this next app in the face.

Anyways — Shallow Hal’s evil twin brothers Pivi & Co have ported over their popular iOS app FatBooth. While I realize this app is for “entertainment” purposes only, I almost feel like an ass writing about it.

Android Is Now the Most Used Smartphone OS in the U.S.

Mar 14, 2011

According to a study released last week by comScore, the Android operating system has surpassed RIM’s BlackBerry OS as the most used smartphone OS in the United States. I have to admit, with so much Apple vs Android propaganda going on, I completely forgot that BlackBerry actually owned the #1 spot.
