GAMEVIL Committing their Top-Sellers and Future Titles to Xperia Play

Apr 5, 2011

Looks like more and more developers and studios are jumping on the Xperia Play bandwagon and pledging their support for the device

Most recently, GAMEVIL Inc., a mobile game publisher based in Seoul, Korea and Los Angeles, CA, USA, announced that their current top-sellers and future titles will be available on the Xperia Play.

Zenonia, Zenonia 2, Baseball Superstars 2011 and Soccer Superstars will all be available on the new platform with future titles, including Illusia and Zenonia 3, their latest role-playing games, also coming to the device.

“Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Play combines a powerful smartphone with a unique interface that offers an improved game experience,” said Kyu Lee, Head of GAMEVIL USA. “Whether fighting evil or batting homeruns, we’re thrilled that players can enjoy our best titles on this exciting new platform backed by PlayStation certification.”

“GAMEVIL is a leading player in the world of mobile games, creating great entertainment for casual and more hardcore audiences alike,” said Steve Walker, Head of Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “We’re delighted they are bringing their current and future portfolio to Xperia PLAY – a demonstration not just of their ongoing support for the device’s capabilities but also its broad appeal.”

From those quotes, it’s obvious that GAMEVIL seem very excited about the Xperia Play, and for good reason. As the world’s first PlayStation certified smartphone, the gaming capabilities are apparent. Impressive hardware mixed with the open and powerful Android operating system, there’s a lot to be excited about.

As the line-up of exclusive titles, 3rd party support and Sony’s own catalogue of games for the Xperia Play continues to grow, the question is now, will you be getting one? In the coming months, as the phone goes on sale and the numbers come in, let’s hope these companies faith in the Xperia Play is not misplaced.
