Google Maps Update Adds Uber Support and Improves Turn-By-Turn Navigation, Transit, and Offline Features

Google has announced that the Google Maps application has received an update with new features. Navigation now shows which lane to be in while using turn-by-turn navigation, which is very helpful for unfamiliar roads so as to not get lost. Offline maps can be saved and named for easy access when internet access is not available. Place searches can be filtered by price, user rating, and even if they’re open now, perfect for late-night excursions. Also for the night owls it’s possible to see when the last bus or train is scheduled so that you don’t wind up stranded somewhere. But if you do, Uber support has been added: users with the app installed can jump straight into the app to get a ride easily. The update is available now on Google Play.
