Handmark Announces Two New Games

Feb 21, 2011

Leading mobile application developer Handmark, in partnership with Fishing Cactus, today announced the release of “OXO” and “Subway.” These titles have actually been available in the Android Market for about a month now but hey, better late than never. You may remember Handmark from my Shift Puzzle Game review, a unique puzzle platformer I most definitely enjoyed. Handmark seems to have an affinity for minimalism and these next two titles are no exception.

OXO: Tic Tac Toe Extreme

OXO puts a new twist on the classic game of Tic Tac Toe (or naughts and crosses to you Brits). While OXO shares many simliarities with its pencil-and-paper predecessor, it also differs in many aspects. Unlike classic Tic Tac Toe, the object is to try and complete as many O-X-O patterns using a much larger game grid. Each player scores a point for each successful OXO and the player with the most points at the end of the game wins. OXO offers 3 different difficulty levels in single mode and features a pass-and-play two player mode.

OXO comes in both a paid and ad-supported Lite version. The paid version is $0.99 and both are available in the Android Market. If you’re into casual puzzle games such as Sudoku then this game may be perfect for you. Either way, it won’t cost you anything but space to try out the Lite version. Subway: Retro Line Arcade Game

Subway by Handmark is a line-drawing, retro 2D game that has you playing station master to your very own subway network. Test your reflexes in this fast-paced game by triggering rail switches in an attempt to reach your trains destination. The more successful mass transit destinations reached, the more points and trophies you can earn. Think fast, score high and post your scores via Twitter.

Subway is available in both a paid and ad-supported Lite version. The paid version costs $1.99 and offers online leaderboards along with a 5 line option. Both are available in the Android Market and can be downloaded by following the links below.
