Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Mar 2, 2011

Theodor Seuss Geisel more commonly know as Dr. Seuss would have been 107 today. This man’s imagination gave birth to the zany characters and rhymes which have entertained children for decades. My childhood copy of “Green Eggs and Ham” still sits on my bookshelf to this day and it’s amazing to watch my children enjoy the very same rhythmic stories as if they were written today. These classic stories continue to entertain and endure time via technology and have since made their way into screen adaptations, television shows, interactive computer programs and the more recent, mobile applications.

There is one company in particular that has been leading the Dr. Seuss mobile movement and that is Oceanhouse Media. We have covered a few of their digital interactive children’s book apps here at Android Rundown and we admire their commitment to bringing apps that uplift, educate, and inspire. In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday and NEA’s Read Across America Day, Oceanhouse Media will be discounting all of their Dr. Seuss omBooks. Starting today and throughout the week, all Dr. Seuss omBooks are $1 off the regular price.

If you have children I highly recommend checking out Oceanhouse Media’s interactive digital book apps. These apps features original artwork and text along with user interactions such as swiping to turn pages, tapping pictures for zoomed words and also custom background music/audio and special effects. You can choose to have the books read aloud by a professional narrator or to read them yourself along with an autoplay feature. These apps are a fun way to promote reading for your little ones and are also very entertaining.

It’s never too late to introduce your children to the world of Dr. Seuss and what better way to do it than with mom and dad’s favorite little toy. Head on over to the Android Market to take advantage of this sale and to pass along the classics that once inspired and entertained the child in you.
