SwiftKey 3 Brings Smart Spacing to the Android Keyboard

SwiftKey 3 Brings Smart Spacing to the Android Keyboard

Jun 26, 2012

SwiftKey has released a major update for their eponymous product that tries to improve the Android typing experience, as SwiftKey 3 is now available. This update brings many new tweaks and enhancements to the popular third-party keyboard. The biggest enhancement is new smart spacing, which will figure out predictions even if the spacebar is missed by the user. It’s actually possible for the app to learn from an RSS feed in addition to Twitter, Gmail, and Facebook, allowing bloggers to import their writing style into SwiftKey’s prediction engine. SMS importation is also available. Additional specific key height options are also available. New themes to help fit into Ice Cream Sandwich are also available. The interface has been tweaked slightly on the tablet version of SwiftKey 3, with the keys laid out straighter along the edges of the screen. This is a free update to SwiftKey X, available for both the phone and tablet versions of the app.
