Deezer Launches Revamped Android Application

Deezer Launches Revamped Android Application

Dec 3, 2015

Deezer Music, the outstanding music service provider, is breaking into 2016 with a whole new swing — in the manifestation of a whole new design.

Per the Deezer Blog:

As the saying goes, out with the old, in with the new! 2016 is on our doorstep and we’ve decided to make a few early resolutions happen like revamping the Android app. We’ve aligned its design with our other apps, namely the iOS app, helping to create a homogeneous experience across all devices. Here are some of the changes we’ve made to make your listening experience even more desirable, easier and enjoyable.

HOMEPAGE

The former burger menu has been replaced by an easy to understand and use tab bar, consisting of 4 entry points, which guide you directly to the music you love. All your personalized mixes are now even more visible on your homepage, meaning you have instant access to music and no longer have to waste precious time trying to find the perfect music for whatever it is you’re doing or hosting. Discovering new sounds has never been easier.

MY MUSIC

No more faffing around, all your favorite music is now available on one page, making navigation even easier. And that’s not all; we’ve streamlined all our pages (artist, album and playlists) so that now you can simply scroll down to find what you’re looking for instead of changing tabs. Finally you can open Flow with the tap of a finger on the big blue play button. Setting the mood for your party/candlelit dinner/workout just became a piece of cake (AND you can wave goodbye to awkward silences and coughs at the office party when trying to find the music).

Deezer remains free on the Play Store; in-app subscriptions are available too.

Whitepages Unveils Redesigned Caller ID App for Android

Whitepages Unveils Redesigned Caller ID App for Android

Feb 20, 2015

Whitepages recently released a refresh of its Android application; dubbed Whitepages Caller ID & Block, the newly rebuilt version brings new features which include better call identification, social networking functionality and more.

Per the press release:

Whitepages today announced the launch of Whitepages Caller ID, a redesigned and refreshed update to the wildly popular Android app previously named Current Caller ID. Whitepages Caller ID, available in the Google Play Store, helps users manage their phone communications by identifying unknown callers by name. The new release adds enhanced communication features including identity control, real-time location and photo sharing, and Facebook and LinkedIn integration giving users the ability to personalize their outgoing calls.

Approximately four billion calls are made in the U.S. every day, making caller identification more important than ever. On average, 35 percent of calls to mobile phones come from phone numbers not in the recipient’s address book. Whitepages Caller ID fills in the gaps by identifying those unknown numbers. Taking advantage of Whitepages’ definitive database of more than 600 million phone numbers, including 250 million mobile phones, Whitepages Caller ID helps people make informed decisions about whether or not to answer an incoming call.

The decision to answer a call has become even more important as spam calls to mobile numbers continue to grow. Whitepages Caller ID provides app users with much needed context on unsolicited spam calls thanks to its state of the art phone reputation service and user-submitted reports. The robust spam protection has helped identify more than 10 million phone numbers making unwanted calls. Of those numbers reported as spam, 47% were identified as telemarketers, an alarming 29% flagged as scams or fraudulent calls, and 17% as debt collectors.

In addition to receiving robust details about incoming calls, users can now control how they appear on outgoing calls by customizing their caller identity. The option to personalize one’s caller identity improves communication and can be done from within the Caller ID app or through a user’s account on Whitepages.com.

Other enhanced communication features include:
Location Sharing: Tag calls with a real-time location before or during the call to communicate exactly where you are.
Photo Sharing: Give others a better idea of what you’re talking about and attach a photo before or during a call without leaving the app.
Social Integration: Connect a Facebook or LinkedIn profile to customize your personal caller identity with a photo and description.
· New Look: A refreshed user interface offers quick access to all of Caller ID’s features with one tap.

The app is available for free on the Play Store.

Rdio Introduces Major Redesign to Their Android App

Feb 8, 2012

Streaming music service Rdio has completely updated their Android app to help bring a better experience to their subscribers. The app boasts a new home screen design with one-click access to important features. They’ve added support for Ice Cream Sandwich with new lock screen controls, and support for the action bar. As well, they’ve made it easier to access the newest and most popular releases with new top charts, and access to new releases as soon as they are released, and occasionally even before they are publicly available for purchase. Search has been expanded to now look up playlists and people along with artists, albums, and songs. There’s an easy way to view just offline tracks easily, without going into Offline Mode now as well. The app now recommends music based on previously listened to tracks. The update is available now, although it will require a subscription in order to use beyond the trial period.
