Jun 11, 2014

Small World 2, the digital version of the hit board game by Days of Wonder, has a new Tournament Style update out now on Android. These features add in expanded multiplayer features, including an improved Online Arena lobby, both synchronous and asynchronous modes, with a new Tournament Style mode for the asynchronous play that determines how much time a player has to move. This means that games can be finished even if one player drops out, and allows for a variety of play styles. This and other improved multiplayer features are in the update, available now on Google Play.

Small World 2 Launches on Android with Robust, Cross-Platform Multiplayer

Small World 2, Days of Wonder’s sequel to the digital board game that launched with the original iPad, has made the jump from iPad to Android. Players try to conquer more land than their opponents in a world that ain’t big enough for the two of us, with 24 races and 29 special powers to help tip the scales. Or the five of us, as Small World 2 supports up to five players at a time, with robust online play.

Want to play a game in real-time with other people? Go for it. Want to play turn-based asynchronously? Do that. Want to play against people with the iPad and new Steam versions, and hop between platforms at your leisure? Nothing’s stopping you. Want to play with other people in person? Whoa, madman. That’s possible, but it’s sorcery you’re describing.

Small World 2 launches with the “Be Not Afraid…” expansion available as IAP, and people who buy the IAP can use the Friendly Share policy to use it in games with people who don’t own the DLC.

The game is available now from Google Play.
