In a lot of the country, we are anticipating the summer weather. When it’s nice out there are people building things around the house. This might be building a deck, putting up a fence or maybe fixing the roof. Whatever the project, there is a need for some sort of calculator or other tool to help the project finish faster.
The list this week is all about the different apps for the handyman or the DIY weekend project. Let’s take a look at what’s out there to help get the project done right.
Handyman Calculator is a huge help when it comes to any construction project. A lot of people underestimate the amount of planning when it comes to construction. This apps will give you a whole list of different calculators to help with calculate anything. Some of the calculator are square footage, fraction calculator, lumber and asphalt calculators, Drywall calculator, Carpet Calculator, Paint Calculator and a lot more.
Magnetic Stud Finder
One of the tools I have needed from time to time and never seem to be able to find is a stud finder. The way this finder works is by looking for the screws or nails holding up the studs. By starting near the floor about 5 or 6 feet from the corner of the wall might be the fastest way to find one. If the drywall is a little thicker, this app may have a harder time finding the stud. But hey, the app is free and worth a try.
When there is a need for a simple fraction calculator, RationalCalc Free should do the trick. While the idea is simple, the app is powerful. When building something or in machining, there is a need for pretty accurate measurements and calculations. This easy to use calculator is will let you round up or down to the nearest common fraction (e.g. 1/4 or 1/8). not many calculators will do that.
