Yes, I admit it… the Kanye West track-lined trailer for the upcoming Power Rangers live action movie has me intrigued.
Just about as cool is that news that the movie is taking part in what is becoming a Hollywood norm: the release of a companion game to help create mindshare.
Power Rangers: Legacy Wars is coming out this month. It’s a head-to-head fighting game (like Street Fighter) that brings in a host of characters from the Power Rangers universe.
As the first video game to feature Power Rangers from Lionsgate’s highly anticipated feature film, Power Rangers: Legacy Wars is the first video game to feature iconic, fan-favorite Rangers and villains from Power Rangers’ 24-year history fighting alongside one another. In the game, the evil space witch Rita Repulsa corrupts the Morphin Grid from within, hoping to destroy the legacy of the Power Rangers forever. Players must take on Rita and the virtual Ranger clones and monsters she’s created by teaming up with Zordon and using Zeo Shards to gain power.
According to an announcement made at GDC, Power Rangers: Legacy Wars is due out on March 23rd… the day before the movie hits theaters.
Check out the artwork below, and then enjoy the trailer that has very interesting people playing the actual game.
