Demiurge Studios hates robots. They hate them so much so that they made a game called Shoot Many Robots for the consoles last year. They want to spread the gospel of robot shooting, so they’ve decided to go to mobile with a free-to-play version. But who would help them get this done? Enter the fellow Bostonians at Owlchemy Labs, a studio that recently released an anti-tree manifesto, Jack Lumber. A slaughtering match made in heaven.

Shoot Many Robots for Android is an auto-runner as opposed to a Contra/Metal Slug run’n gun game, though there’s still plenty of running and gunning. Players can jump and swipe lanes by tapping and swiping on the left part of the screen. The right side of the screen is used to deploy the default pistol and the more powerful weapons that spawn in crates. It’s possible to buy limited-use weapons that will appear in crates, gear that will activate for 24 hours and provide special abilities and boosts, and permanent pistol upgrades.

The game has launched first on Android, because it’s only sporting to give the OS named after a robot the first chance on the destruction of robot-kind. Download it now from Google Play.
